Notre Dame Roman Catholic High School for Girls, Dumbarton

Location:-

The building on the hill at Havoc Road is the old Notre Dame Roman Catholic School for girls which was built in 1912 alongside Notre Dame Convent. The building fell into disrepair in 1969 and a new Notre Dame school was built on Cardross Road. Further west along this road used to be St Patrick’s School which merged with Notre Dame in 1990 to become Our Lady and St Patrick’s School. The old St Patrick’s school was demolished and the new one is on its site. The old Notre Dame school here was demolished in 2005 and the chapel is rumoured to be part of the new housing development which will be built there.

  1. Hello. Thank you for publishing these photos. I would like to ask your permission to use the ‘undated photo’ in a commemorative calendar I am producing to raise money for a Notre Dame charity in Glasgow, SPRED. We are including photos of Notre Dame schools in England and Scotland. Any profits of the sale of the calendar will go to the charity and we will acknowledge the source of any photos. Many thanks for your consideration of this request.
