Graving Docks in 1936


Built in 1898 for Clyde Navigation Trust.

The first, nearest the river, was constructed 1875 and is 551 feet long, 72 feet wide.
The second was opened on 13 October 1886 and is 575 feet long and 67 feet wide.
The third one was opened on 27th April 1898 and is 880 feet long, 83 feet wide and 26 feet, 6 inches deep.

Number one dock had a steam travelling crane in operation until 1970.
